Antenova secures multiple design wins with GPS RADIONOVA RF antenna modules

CAMBRIDGE, ENGLAND: Antenova Ltd, the integrated antenna and RF solutions company, has secured more than 35 new design wins with its market leading GPS RADIONOVA RF antenna modules.

Antenova further announced that GPS RADIONOVA enabled devices, which include smart phones, PNDs, PDAs, micro trackers, personal trackers, auto vehicle locators (AVLs), data loggers and other mobile devices, will be in volume mass production in 2010.

“GPS RADIONOVA RF Antenna Modules are fully integrated and optimized drop-in solutions that offer both development and time-to-market advantages for device manufacturers looking to add GPS functionality into their mobile devices,” stated Greg McCray, CEO of Antenova.

“Integration of the antenna, GPS receiver IC and RF front-end components provides optimized performance, placement flexibility and reduced BOM costs -- thus making it a lower risk and simpler solution for device manufactures to design into their own hardware solutions. And with location rapidly becoming a pervasive application, even outside of the traditional personal navigation devices,

“GPS RADIONOVA is an attractive solution for companies looking to shorten design cycles and/or with little or no RF resource.”

Antenova’s GPS RADIONOVA range of RF Antenna Modules comes in space saving, low profile form factors in vertical (M10214, M10163), planar (M10264, M10295) and clip mount (M10300) options. Antenova’s patented complementary antenna technology enables GPS RADIONOVA RF antenna modules to operate independent of ground plane size or placement and are omni-directional, making them an ideal solution for mobile devices that operate in varying orientations.

The high performing and low power consumption modules offer optimal performance for smartphones, PNDs, PDA’s, portable media players (PMPs), personal trackers/safety devices, wrist watches, ultra mobile personal computers (UMPCs), mobile internet devices (MIDs) and plug-in accessories such as smart cards and USB dongles.

McCray added: “Antenova is committed to providing customers the broadest range of high performing, lowest cost drop-in module solutions to accelerate the development of GPS enabled mobile devices.

“Our ongoing collaboration with leading GPS IC vendors provides the highest degree of integration and optimized performance required for the new generation of GPS enabled mobile communication and wireless consumer electronic devices. Antenova’s RADIONOVA RF antenna modules provide customers the cost benefits of a standard component coupled with design flexibility that can be used across multiple product designs.”
