Tektronix expands product test capabilities at New Jersey lab facility

USA: Tektronix has added a new Vibration Test System and Hastest Sand and Dust Chamber to its Wayne, NJ Product Test Laboratory.

The chamber is designed to meet the requirements of MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-202, and RTCA/DO-160. Additionally, test parameters for wind speed, sand or dust concentration, and temperature can now be modified to meet customers' specific test requirements.

"The chamber is a great addition to the environmental product test resources within Tektronix. It will allow us to better service the semiconductor, pharmaceutical, and solar device industries, which rely on the types of testing procedures our expanded capabilities can provide," said Betsy Anderson, VP for Service Operations at Tektronix.

"With the new systems, we can further help our customers reduce the time it takes to get reliable products into the market."

In addition to the Wayne, NJ test facility, Tektronix also has a product testing laboratory in North Billerica, MA, just outside of Boston. The North Billerica facility has accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025, in addition to International Safe Transit Association (ISTA) certification, DLA suitability and ISO 9001:2008 registration. The Wayne laboratory is ISTA certified, has DLA suitability and is ISO 9001:2008 registered.

In addition to environmental testing, Tektronix' Product Test capabilities include HALT/HASS, Electrical Testing, NEMA Testing, Storage, Battery, Mechanical / Endurance Testing, and Package Testing.

Between the two laboratories, Tektronix offers 10 electrodynamic vibration machines, a hydraulic vibration system, various mechanical vibration systems and 45 standard and walk-in temperature, humidity and altitude chambers. Other lab capabilities include thermal shock chambers, salt spray chambers with SO2 injection, an explosive atmosphere chamber and various mechanical and electrical test setups.
