O2Micro granted patent for low-pass filtering technique

GEORGE TOWN, GRAND CAYMAN: O2Micro International Ltd, a leading supplier of innovative power management and security components, was issued 21 claims under United States patent number 7,471,016 for its Low Pass Filtering technique.

This patented filtering method can be used in a variety of portable, cordless electrical device and EV/HEV applications. For example, a cordless drill may include a low pass filter to limit high frequency noise, improving the accuracy of cell voltage measurement inside a battery pack.

"This patented methodology gives the end user a more efficient and higher performance low pass filter to economically maximize safety in their applications," commented William Kao, vice president, O2Micro.
