D3 continues to expand international business portfolio

NEW YORK, USA: D3 LED, LLC (D3), the world's leader in specialized LED digital display applications, announced that it has been selected by Billboard Video Engineering to design and manufacture a new LED digital display for the Almaty Soccer Stadium in Kazakhstan, a transcontinental country located in Central Asia and Eastern Europe that is ranked as the ninth largest country in the world.

The City of Almaty is currently considering entering a bid for the 2018 Winter Olympics.

D3 is no stranger to this region; the LED display in Almaty, which is currently being constructed, marks the third project the Company has completed in Kazakhstan for Billboard Video Engineering.

Last year, when Kazakhstan was named host of the 7th International Winter Olympic Games (ASIADA-2011), top-notch display technologies were needed to support the prestigious sporting event. D3 was selected to facilitate a complete retrofit of an aging LED display at Chimbulak Mountain Ski Resort, located in the largest city in Kazakhstan at the heart of the Alatau Mountains 2200 meters above sea level.

Part of this project included removal of the existing display and installation of a brand new 125 square meter system with a 24 mm display resolution.

Additionally, D3 is responsible for manufacturing the 200 square meters LED display at the Medeo Skating Rink in 2009, which was also part of the 2011 International Winter Olympic Games. This display features a 24mm resolution and 7500-bit brightness, and looks spectacular from multiple viewing spots across the mountain.

The D3 LED displays installed at these key Olympic venues proved to show high performance in an extreme high altitude environment, and remained fully operational despite temperatures reaching as low as -15 degrees C.

D3 digital displays can be found throughout the world and most notably include the New York City Times Square Digital Spectaculars created for Walgreens, Aeropostale, Disney Store, Quiksilver, Forever 21, ABC Studios, M&M's, and more.

The company plans to continue aggressively growing its business portfolio in the sports marketplace this year with A2D3, the new brand created by D3 and All American Scoreboards, a division of Everbrite, LLC, that provides turnkey video scoreboard solutions to sports facility owners, managers, athletic directors, architects, engineers and designers.
