THIEF RIVER FALLS, USA: Electronic components distributor Digi-Key Corp. was named the No. 1 Internet distributor by design engineers across North America according to the Hearst Electronic Group’s 2011 Design Engineer and Supplier Interface study.
Digi-Key retained its number one ranking from the same 2010 study for Best Website Navigation and Best Website Offering Valuable Design Support Content. For six consecutive years, Digi-Key has been ranked number one for Best Website Navigation. Additionally, Digi-Key retained its number one ranking from the 2010 study across all five industry categories – Power Sources, Semiconductors, Interconnects, Passives and Electromechanical components.
In the 2011 study, Digi-Key ranked No. 1 in Best-of-Class Performance in eight categories including Product Selection, Parts in Stock/Ready for Immediate Shipping, Data/Product Selection Support, Consistent On-Time Delivery, Competitive Pricing, Website Easy to Navigate, Website Offers Valuable Content for Design Support, and Online Seminars, Technology Education and Training.
In the category of Design and Engineering Support, Digi-Key tied for the number one ranking with Avnet and Arrow. Digi-Key also tied with Avnet for the number one ranking in the category of Knowledgeable Sales Representatives.
The research study gathered unaided information from engineers regarding their need for product information and related electronics services, as well as how and when they interface with suppliers and how they rate the quality and value of that interface.
“Our leadership standing is driven by a total commitment to design engineers to be the distributor of choice for electronic components year after year after year,” said Mark Larson, president and COO, Digi-Key. “We have built our business on a solid foundation using state-of-the-art technology and providing streamlined sales for our suppliers worldwide.”
