LIGHTFAIR International 2011, LISLE, USA: Molex Inc. continues its commitment to developing groundbreaking lighting solutions for global industry needs. The company’s interconnect expertise is deeply rooted in the data communications, telecom, consumer electronics, industrial, automotive and medical industries.
Innovations in these markets have given Molex the unique opportunity to develop proven lighting solutions for a wide range of applications that address unmet market needs. The company’s Solid-State Lighting LED solutions will be showcased at LIGHTFAIR International, Molex Booth 2155, May 17 to 19, Philadelphia, PA.
“LED technology not only reduces the amount of energy consumed, but it’s rapidly becoming a more reliable, efficient and user-friendly way for meeting lighting needs in a variety of industries and applications,” said Mike Picini, VP, Molex.
“Molex has been able to draw on its unique electrical, lighting, connector, thermal and optical expertise to develop solutions that meet these diverse requirements. From light fixture manufacturers and lighting designers to maintenance and repair operators, we are dedicated to developing the highest quality and safest LED lighting solutions on the market today.”
Several Molex experts will be available at LIGHTFAIR to discuss the following LED solutions:
LED Array Holders
Molex LED array holders are designed to allow light fixture manufacturers to easily create an electrical connection between an LED array and a power source. The unique dual wire trap compression contact powers the arrays while eliminating the need for hand soldering or expensive surface mount technology equipment. This product simplifies the installation process and provides field serviceable benefits when designing and maintaining LED lighting applications.
Versatile Light Module (VLM)
Molex Versatile Light Modules (VLMs) also provide a solderless connection to the LED array and are a completely new approach to linear lighting. The magnetic mounting allows lighting designers to replace, upgrade, remove or rearrange the light source by simply separating the magnetic interface between the puck module and the rail, providing users with flexibility pre- or post-installation.
Helieon Line Voltage Sustainable Light-Module (SLM) Assembly
The Helieon Line Voltage module provides a complete LED lighting solution to fixture manufactures, lighting designers, architects and building owners using AC line voltage power. By eliminating the need for expensive drivers and power supplies in the fixture, the product reduces the amount of components needed, dramatically reducing costs. Additionally, the separate socket and module allows for easy replacements and upgrades.
LED Printed Circuit Assemblies
The LED design, assembly and manufacturing expertise offered by Molex continues to directly address customer requirements for energy efficiency, productivity and ease of use. By combining the company’s LED and Printed Circuit Assembly design and manufacturing expertise, Molex LED Printed Circuit Assemblies are dependable and efficient custom-lighting solutions that work seamlessly for LED subassemblies and computing devices across all industries.
Woodhead Industrial Lighting Products
Molex Woodhead industrial lighting products and solutions offer portable, safe, code-compliant lighting for a variety of customer needs in dry, wet and hazardous locations. In addition to the durable and energy-efficient LED handlamp, the company will be introducing several new LED options in its portable lighting product line including:
Wide Area Lighting: Woodhead offers an extensive range of wide-area lighting products for rugged and harsh applications such as natural gas service utility locations, refineries, shipyards, fuel oil loading docks and petrochemical plants. Molex plans to offer LED versions of both the Wide Area Fluorescent and Wide Area Flood Light.
Hazardous Duty Hand Lamps: Tough and compact, these lamps feature non-sparking aluminum guards, shock-resistant tempered-glass globes and anti-slip metal handles. Molex offers both incandescent and fluorescent lamps and will be introducing an LED version.
