PLANO, USA: Microtune Inc. has entered into a strategic supply agreement with Samsung Electro Mechanical Co. Ltd. Microtune is shipping its high-performance tuners which are currently deployed by Samsung Electro Mechanical Co. in production-ready, modular electronics subsystems for digital television (DTV) product lines.
Microtune, inventor of the patented single-chip TV silicon tuner, supplies radio frequency (RF) and digital signal components, including tuners, demodulators and receivers, to the worldwide digital televisions markets.
Its customer-hardened products, recognized for their superior performance and reliability, enable television manufacturers to deliver high-quality off-air and cable reception in DTVs across global standards and product lines.
Samsung Electro Mechanical is a leading electronic parts and components manufacturer serving worldwide customers. Headquartered in Suwon, South Korea, it is focused on digital products based on high-frequency engineering and design technologies. It is a key supplier to its flagship sister company, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. as well as to other manufacturers.
