PHOENIX, USA: In 1986, the distribution partnership inked between Toshiba America Electronic Components Inc. and Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas, a business region of Avnet Inc., coincided with Toshiba’s launch of the first 4-megabit dynamic RAM. Twenty-five years later, the two companies have not only broadened their respective product and service offerings, but have strengthened their partnership as well.
In the decades that Avnet and Toshiba have worked together, Toshiba has made giant strides in technology innovation. These range from the launch of the first mass market laptop, to the recent launches of the Toshiba MKx001GRZB enterprise-class solid state drive and the long life LED LCD displays. Along the way, Toshiba and Avnet have never lost sight of their commitment to quality and design expertise.
Today, Avnet carries a full offering of Toshiba’s products, including memory and flash memory-based storage solutions, discrete devices, displays, microprocessors, microcontrollers and wireless components for the computing, wireless, networking, automotive and digital consumer markets.
“As one of the top semiconductor companies in the world, Toshiba delivers a vast selection of electronic components, and our distribution partners play a key role in maintaining our unswerving commitment to advanced and innovative technology,” noted Hitoshi Otsuka, president and CEO for Toshiba. “Over the last quarter of a century, Avnet has built a reputation as a global leader in distribution. This, coupled with their passion for customer service and technological expertise, makes them a partner that we are proud to align ourselves with.”
“For the past 25 years, Toshiba’s passion for innovation and Avnet’s commitment to meeting the needs of design engineers have gone hand-in-hand,” said Ed Smith, president, Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas. “As we look toward the future of technology, the relationship that Avnet and Toshiba have built will serve to fuel the innovation of the future, and I look forward to the next 25 years.”
