IBEX 2011, LISLE, USA: Molex Inc. will be exhibiting its line of marine focused products at the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference (IBEX) in Louisville, Kentucky, October 17-19, booth 2454.
Molex has been developing products and solutions for the marine industry for more than 15 years. All of the products are designed for harsh environments such as salt water, are properly sealed to prevent corrosion and many can be temporarily submerged, such as in the bilge. The products on display include:
Quixon Quick-Disconnect Terminals: Products provide manufacturers of marine instrument panel gauges and switches with a highly reliable self-aligning feature for simple and secure connections that offer lower insertion force and greater blind-mate capability versus standard Avikrimp, InsulKrimp and Krimptite terminals.
Application Tooling: Molex designs, fabricates and qualifies all of its own hand tools and other Application Tooling to ensure high quality crimp terminations for the marine market.
SRC (Sealed Rectangular Connector) System: A rugged, environmentally sealed connector system that supports both low-level signals as well as currents of up to 40.0 amperes.
XRC (Extra Rugged Circular) Sealed Plugs and Receptacles: Economical and rugged, these circular connectors are ideal for heavy-duty applications and meet IP67 standards to protect against the ingress of dust, water and other contaminants.
Mini-Fit H2O: An IP67-rated system with pre-installed seals for weatherproof, compact connections in wire-to-wire applications of up to 9.0A per circuit.
NMEA 2000 Cables and Connectors: A complete line of open standard cables, cable assemblies, connectors, terminators and power products that support the NMEA 2000 system, the industry standard for data communications among shipboard electronic devices.
MX150L: An environmentally sealed connector system that is ideal for power and low-level signal applications as well as challenging, rugged and harsh applications.
Perma-Seal Terminals and Splices: Provides an environmentally sealed connection that insulates, seals and protects joints from physical abuse and abrasion, water, salt and other corrosive compounds.
“Because our products are designed specifically for harsh duty environments, they are ideal for the unique conditions and challenges found in marine electronic systems,” said Chip Walsh, global product manager, Molex. “We are committed to continually expanding our product offering to meet the demands from an increasing number of electrical and electronic applications in the marine market.”
