Compal selects Teradyne TestStation LH for notebook testing

NORTH READING, USA: Teradyne Inc., the industry’s leading manufacturer of Printed Circuit Board (PCB) test and inspection systems, announced that Compal Electronics Inc., a provider of consumer electronic solutions, has ordered multiple Teradyne TestStation LH in-circuit test systems to test its latest generation high-volume notebook and netbook products.

Compal, a strategic Teradyne customer, relies on the high quality testing capabilities of the TestStation LH to test their advanced PCB technologies. Compal chose TestStation for its next generation Framescan vectorless test technologies and its unique SafeTest protection technologies that allow for safe, accurate and reliable testing of low-voltage components.

The flexibility of TestStation’s scalable test architecture and test solutions also allows Compal to configure the TestStation LH to meet their specific testing needs and satisfy their price/performance requirements.

“Compal is pleased with the exceptional test capabilities, diagnostic accuracy and throughput of the TestStation LH,” said Robert Shyn, vice president of Compal Information (Kunshan) Co. Ltd. “We also appreciate the support and valuable technical assistance that we have received from the Teradyne applications team. We look forward to their continued support in achieving our production goals in 2009 and beyond.”

“Teradyne has built a close working relationship with Compal as they employ the TestStation LH to meet and exceed their high volume, high quality PCB manufacturing requirements,” said Bobby Griffis, marketing director for Teradyne’s Commercial Board Test Group.
