Sanheay Batteries launches its flagship brand "LaBatt

MUMBAI, INDIA: 'LaBatt' the flagship brand of Sanheay Batteries (P) Ltd, which manufactures Lead acid storage batteries , UPS systems and power inverters was launched today for customers worldwide.

The range of products under the brand name of 'LaBatt' will cater to the stationary applications, automobile and multi product industries in the country. The occasion also marked the inauguration of the company's new facility layout in the industrial area of Chakan near Pune. The 35,000 sq. feet plant will manufacture around 10,000 units of battery and 5, 60,000 units of plates per month. The company expects to generate employment for 400 people.

S. N. Singh, CEO, LaBatt India said: "Power shortage, increasing population of vehicles and upsurge in uninterruptible power supply requirement in India offers the opportunity for a viable business proposition for this range of power products. Recessionary trends are a thing of past now and steady growths in manufacturing sectors has shown an upward swing owing to domestic demand. The direct linkage of these industries to our sector; provide us with new opportunities to explore this market that will further boost industrial production. Launch of LaBatt is aimed towards achieving this goal."

"We aim in building on an organization in the field of Power storage & Power electronics. We are committed to provide an alternate source of energy to the society equipped with eco- friendly advanced technologies at most affordable prices. We envision being a Rs 500 crore company by 2015," he added.

The battery manufacturing industry is currently pegged at Rs 20,000 crore. Having expertise in manufacturing battery machinery and complete automization of plant, LaBatt aims at a market share of 2.5 percent by the end of 2015.

Labatt Batteries will be available in two types: Labatt Tubular battery and Labatt Grid battery with extra power. This will include Automotive & Two wheeler batteries, stationary applications batteries both pasted and tubular batteries for UPS / Inverters- square wave as well as sine wave. The company has proven excellence & expertise in tubular batteries manufacturing.
