Linear Technology lead-based parts available from Arrow Electronics

MELVILLE, USA: Arrow Electronics Inc. has agreed to carry all quantities of lead (Pb)-based products from Linear Technology Corp. This ensures efficient delivery of Linear products to customers worldwide who require a lead (Pb)-based solder option and complements Linear’s broad line of lead-free products.

“Drawing from the strength and scalability of our global supply chain, Arrow is pleased to assist Linear Technology with meeting demand for leaded parts, particularly from customers with short lead times and varying volume requirements,” said Tyler Moore, director of Arrow’s supply assurance business. “This expansion of our long-standing relationship with Linear Technology increases our depth in offerings to support suppliers’ and customers’ ongoing requirements for Linear’s lead-based products.”

Through the agreement, Arrow will fulfill orders of any size for Linear Technology lead-based products from inventories in its Reno, Nev., warehouse. This global service will enable customers worldwide to minimize redesign and production costs and streamline the ordering process.

Linear Technology’s leaded parts are used for the production of a wide range of aerospace, defense, medical and critical industrial products and technologies. They are noted for their reliability and durability.

Mike Grossman, worldwide distribution manager for Linear Technology, said: “Despite the global move toward lead-free electronic assemblies, a large number of designs in the military, industrial and medical markets require the continued supply of components with lead-based finishes in manageable quantities and lead times. This cooperative effort by Arrow and Linear assists those customers by providing an established chain of supply of our products in compliance with their needs. Linear will continue to offer customers products in lead-free packages across the entire product line.”
