CUI intros first product based on patented Solus power topology

TUALATIN, USA: CUI Inc, a subsidiary of CUI Global Inc., has introduced the CUI NQB Series intermediate bus converter, the first product based on its patented Solus Power Topology.

Compared to other products currently on the market, CUI’s Solus Power Topology provides numerous advantages across a range of ac-dc and dc-dc power conversion platforms, including:
* Greater efficiency
* Higher power density
* Reduced cost per unit current
* Reduced EMI (electro-magnetic interference)
* Reduced output capacitor requirements
* Reduced switching loss
* Faster transient response (4X as fast)
* Fast turn-on (1 ms to fully turn-on full load).

“There is an increasing global demand for green energy solutions that are both power efficient and cost effective,” said William Clough, CUI Global’s president and CEO. “Moving forward, Solus Power Topology will set us apart in both efficiency and power density across a wide range of products. This new technology is opening doors for us across new markets worldwide.”

Select customers have already begun sampling CUI’s 720W NQB Series DC-DC converter. “Given the many advantages this new technology brings to our customer’s end product, we’re receiving increasingly strong demand for engineering samples,” noted Clough. “We will continue to provide samples until full production commences as planned in the first quarter of 2012.”
