All American recognizes Semtech's new Ecospeed converters

USA: All American Semiconductor, a leading distributor of electronic components, announces it carries Semtech’s new EcoSpeed converter platform. The platform incorporates Semtech’s patented adaptive on-time (AOT) control architecture to deliver ultra-fast transient response and very high efficiency across the entire load range.

The AOT control architecture uses an advanced control loop to dynamically adjust the on-time based on input and output voltages. This offers the benefits of conventional converter topologies with optimal tradeoffs for best-in-class performance in next-generation dynamic point-of-load applications. The AOT topology also eliminates the need for loop compensation components and enables the use of ceramic input and output capacitors.

Semtech’s EcoSpeed buck converters are inherently well-suited to implement a reduced frequency power-save (PSAVE) mode for up to 95 percent peak efficiency in light load conditions, with the option of ultrasonic PSAVE mode for applications requiring no audible resonance during power save.

Other key product features a programmable switching frequency of 200 kHz to 1 MHz, wide input voltage and output current ranges and highly accurate pseudo-fixed switching frequency. The EcoSpeed converters are used in applications such as office automation equipment, networking and communications equipment, set-top boxes, portable products and power supply modules.

“Semtech continues to add to their already impressive portfolio of power management products,” said Cory Dana, corporate product manager for All American. “We are excited to see what’s next as Semtech adds to their broad range of analog and mixed signal solutions. Through our commitment, All American maintains inventory of all of these products while adding as new releases are introduced.”
