RS Components adds Harwin 2.54mm pitch sockets and headers for general-purpose board-to-board

SINGAPORE: RS Components (RS) the world’s leading high service distributor of electronics and maintenance products and the trading brand of Electrocomponents plc (LSE:ECM), has added a comprehensive range of 2.54mm pitch sockets and headers in the Harwin M20 series to its interconnect offering.

The connectors, which have 0.64mm square pins and are designed for industrial, test and measurement and consumer electronics applications, can carry up to 3A per contact and use twin leaf, phosphor-bronze contacts to maintain a positive contact force throughout their service life. This ensures reliability and durability in both fit-and-forget applications and those where there is more frequent insertion and extraction of the connectors.

The M20 product family includes vertical and horizontal types in through-hole or surface mount styles. There are options for crimp contacts, gold plated contacts, and single or double-row pin configurations. The rated voltage is 250V AC/DC and insulation resistance is 1,000 MΩ.

Valerie Ramon, electro-mechanical and connectors category business manager at RS, commented, “The breadth of the Harwin range, coupled with the ease with which the most suitable option can be identified via the RS website, means that it has never been easier for engineers to find, design-in and buy proven, industry standard board and cable connectors.”

Wendy Bourne, technical support engineer at Harwin, added: “RS has a long established reputation for reliability and outstanding customer support, and their ongoing commitment to provide advanced online technical resources places them in a strong competitive position. The addition of Harwin’s M20 connectors to the RS portfolio is a significant step forward in bringing these products to market.”
