Excelitas to expand lighting capabilities for medical OEMs

WALTHAM & GOLDEN, USA: Excelitas Technologies, a global technology leader focused on delivering innovative, customized optoelectronics to OEMs seeking high-performance technology solutions, announced that it has completed the acquisition of the business of privately-held Carsan Engineering, a Golden, Colorado-based engineering design company and world leader in the manufacture of arc lamp power supplies for the medical and dental markets.

With a 25-year proven track record of excellence, Carsan Engineering designs and develops a wide variety of arc lamp power supplies that are being used in products delivered by many of the world’s leading medical OEMs. Carsan’s significant experience in arc lamp power supply technology has distinguished the company as a leader in the fiber optic illumination industry.

The acquisition further broadens Excelitas’ portfolio of lighting solutions to leading medical and dental OEMs worldwide to now include an expanded array of innovative, high performance power supplies. Carsan’s newest 400 watt product is highly differentiated and being rapidly adopted in the marketplace today.
