Johnson Electric launches Compact Lite drive for automotive sunroofs

HONG KONG: Johnson Electric announced the Compact Lite sunroof drive for automotive sunroofs. This product is the industry’s lowest weight and low noise sunroof drive in a slim package. The Compact Lite sunroof drive is based on a rare earth free motor design. This product line is 30 percent lower weight and 6dBA quieter than traditional products.

The unique technology within this new sunroof drive includes key components such as gearbox, commutator, brush holder and Johnson Electric’s Curve technology motor. This highly efficient drive design reduces vibration and noise levels compared to traditional products.

“The Compact Lite drive is a result of our engineering strategy to create fuel efficient products,” said Jim Dick, Johnson Electric’s senior VP of Strategic Marketing. “Passenger comfort is improved by lower noise and more compartment space.”
