Digi-Key announces stock on Helieon sustainable light modules from Bridgelux and Molex

THIEF RIVER FALLS, USA: Electronic components distributor Digi-Key Corp. announced that it has stock on Helieon Sustainable Light modules by Bridgelux and Molex.

These modules are available for purchase on Digi-Key's global websites and will be featured in future print and online catalogs.

Helieon combines LED array light sources from Bridgelux with innovative, easy-to-use interconnect technology from Molex to create plug-and-play solutions that can be easily integrated into a wide variety of luminaires.

The separable source and socket system emulates a traditional bulb and socket, allowing manufacturers to deliver both a variety of lighting effects from a single luminaire design and field upgradeability of the light source as LED efficacies improve.

Additionally, these modules help manufacturers reduce energy costs and environmental waste for sustainably designed lighting environments. The Bridgelux arrays used for the Helieon modules deliver between 500 and 1,500 operational lumens (performance comparable to or greater than 40- to 75-watt incandescent bulbs) in a compact, high-density light source.

Applications for the Helieon modules include down lights, task and accent lighting, spot and track lights, troffers and interior-area lighting, retail and display lighting, hospitality lighting, architectural lighting, decorative lighting, and museum lighting.
