ST. LOUIS, USA: Viasystems Group Inc. announced that the company’s manufacturing operation in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, China, has received two safety awards.
The Guangzhou Municipal Labor & Social Security Bureau recognized the plant with its Award for Outstanding Work Injury Prevention. The government of Guangzhou Jiulong presented its 2009 Outstanding Safety Production Company Award in a ceremony on-site in recognition of the plant’s safety record and its successful work in accident prevention.
Viasystems’ Guangzhou plant manufactures complex, multi-layer printed circuit boards and backplanes and employs more than 4,000 people. The plant achieved excellence in safety through a focus on management commitment, employee awareness and training, and the professional use of safety analysis and corrective action disciplines.
“We are proud of our team in Guangzhou for their excellent safety record, and I congratulate them,” said David M. Sindelar, CEO. “A climate of safety reflects respect for the employees and is a fundamental requirement of a well-disciplined and effective plant.”
