RS Components supports rapid prototyping by offering a new card application mbed

FRANCE: RS Components (RS) has announced the release provision of a new card application mbed.

Built from the mbed development platform, the new mbed map application includes a multitude of connectors and external interfaces, eliminating the need for expansion cards and allowing engineers to gain valuable time in their design.

The size of a credit card (54 mm x 86 mm), the new card application is specially designed for use with the module mbed NXP LPC1768 microcontroller . Providing multifunctional capabilities, the new card can carry a maximum of testing and potential projects, while having a small footprint.

The application card mbed offers an impressive array of features, including a graphic LCD 128 x 32, 3-axis accelerometer, a temperature sensor, servo connectors, LEDs controlled by PWM, a socket for wireless connectivity ZigBee, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, Ethernet and USB, speaker jacks and audio I/O

"This new card application is an essential addition in the family mbed allowing engineers to discover programming based on ARM technology," said Mark Cundle, head of Technical Marketing at RS Components.

"Specially designed for use with the mbed NXP LPC1768 solution, the module provides engineers with a considerable saving of time in the development of projects, and a wide range of connectivity options allows  to generate  a large number of applications  around, "Internet of Things".
