Momentive opens expanded Korea technology center

SOUTH KOREA: Momentive Performance Materials Inc. (MPM) opened its expanded technology center in Seoul, South Korea, creating a global innovation center focused on the electronics industry.

The expanded innovation center combines existing technical labs with application development, research and development (R&D), testing and manufacturing operations.

The expanded Korea Technology Center (KTC) is devoted to developing materials and solutions for display, light-emitting diode (LED) and organic light-emitting diode (OLED) applications. The center strengthens MPM’s existing presence in the region; based in the Gasan Digital Complex, the center is more than 1500 square meters.

“By merging world-class technical talent and an arsenal of advanced equipment at the epicenter of the electronics industry, we hope to pioneer the ideas that will revolutionize the industry and transform everyday life,” says Ray Kolberg, senior VP of Formulated Products, Momentive Performance Materials. “And, by housing the KTC close to key customers for the industry, we are able to offer customers faster response times, more opportunities for collaboration, and stronger growth programs, all critical to helping them be successful.”
